I love this family, and can't wait until next month to photography Vienna, her mommy, and finally meet her daddy!

Sierra & Justin: Engagements

When my cousin, Sierra, asked me to do engagements for her & her fiance, Justin, I knew I wanted to do something different. This couple is so not your typical couple; they have a totally different kind of love. I wanted to do something way cooler than I've done with any other couple. We ended up doing their engagements in a junkyard, which was totally awesome, and I love how they turned out. I wish Sierra and Justin many, many years of happiness & all the love in the world.

P.S. This post is way late. I forgt to post it when I initially took their engagements (oops). They are getting married this weekend, so... wedding pictures to come soon!

So this last one is a little risque... Consider yourself appropriately warned. (The look on her face is priceless though).

My best friend my from highschool, Michael (and yes, she is a girl), is a musical theatre major, & her senior recital is next month. When she asked me do some "artsy" photographs her before her recital, I was really excited, and not surprised at all when she decided to wear Chuck Taylors, a vintage prom dress, & a top hat. If anyone can pull of crazy, it's her. I know without a doubt life has a lot in store for her because she is not only one of the most kind-hearted, beautiful, & hilarious people I know, but she is absolutely brilliant.

I worked with Vienna's mommy when I was a teenager; back then she had just gotten married, and now she's a mom to a 2 month old! I had lots of fun photographing baby Vienna. I couldn't get enough of her double chin & little "spike" of hair. Vienna's grandma was also there for the photoshoot & the love between their family is so beautiful.

Whitney and I met in middle school, and I was so excited to photograph her & her daughter, Lillian. Whitney is the best single mom ever! Somehow she manages to work, go to college, and take care of the cutest kid in the world. She's pretty amazing! We had lots of fun playing in the leaves (lots of leaves!) and at the park. I love Lillian's inquisitiveness and zest for life, not to mention her little blonde curls bouncing behind her as she ran everywhere.

Rebekah & Todd: Engagements

I met Rebekah & Todd in nursing school; I don't think I even knew they were dating until I found out they were engaged, but they make the cutest couple! They decided to get their engagement photos done as Christimas presents to family, which I think is super cool so...shhh! I loved that they brought their pup, Bella, with them. They make the happiest little family, and I wish the best in life and love. Seeing other couples so in love makes me fall more in love with my wonderful hubby everyday.

I got married in October; my brother bought a house a few months ago and is getting married this month. My mom likes to say she traded kids for dogs, and I suppose in a way its true. Just like my brother and I have differences in our personalities, so do my parents' pups, Samson & Bella. Samson is half Border Collie & half Lab. He lives to chase cars & catch tennis balls (he's quite the show-off). Bella is pure-breed Chocolate Lab, cute, cuddly, and generally unmotivated to do anything but sleep. I have a very loving family, and I think it shows in the photographs. PS- Isn't my mom totally hot for her age?

It's always important to take time to smell the roses... or eat the flowers?

Somewhere between becoming Ms. Chelsea Walton to Mrs. Chelsea Felty, I forgot to post some photoshoots! It's been a busy, busy time but I love these photos too much not to share them. Jeremy, Jessica, baby Kinsley & I had a blast at Blandy Farm. Jessica & Jeremy had their engagement photos taken at Blandy, and a after getting married and having a baby, they decided it was time to make a special trip for their family photos. I just love Kinsley's expressions; they are priceless!

It was strange returning from the beautiful beach weather in the Outer Banks to the cooler temperatures, falling leaves, and autumn colors. It was like summer disappeared while we were gone, and autumn took it's place; I'm not complaining though. I think this is one of the most beautiful autumns we've had, but maybe that's just because I'm crazy in love with my new husband ;)

I have so many words to say because this couple means so much to me. I didn't want to hold off posting their picture because I have to think of the right words. I think the photos speak for themselves, honestly. I think I will write more later, but for now, enjoy. (Oh, and guess who gets the be the Matron of Honor, and photograher this coming November? *Points to self*). I am so happy for them!

I love this picture because I love the contrast of her perfect, sparkly ring with the hard-working hands that paid for it ;)

Sometimes I'll catch Frankie just looking at Aimee... like she is some beautiful figment of his imagination, and I think this picture totally captures that.

I don't see many guys do this, but one of my favorite things Frankie does is give Aimee "the wink". It melts my heart every time! She is such a lucky girl.

You see these hands? The nicks and cuts, and permanant grease stains? These are the hands of a diligent and perserverant man who bought a house at 18 years of old and will marry his best friend at 19 years old. As his older sister, I couldn't be more proud of the life he is making for their family.

I have known Connor's mom for a long time. She was my guidance counselor in middle school, and we have stayed in touch ever since. I absolutely adore her, and I was super flattered when she asked me to photography her son, Conner. He is going into the 9th grade and she wanted to capture him at this time in his life. Conner loves basketball (and he is really good!), but he loves his big brother, Braden, even more! I tok a few of them together, and I happened to catch their proud momma in a few two. I couldn't help it; I just love the way she adores and watches her boys with such love.

I haven't posted any photos for a while... sorry for the delay, I've just been so busy! I started a new job a few weeks ago, and between getting things ready for my upcoming wedding and more photoshoots than I can keep up with (but I'm not complaining, I love it!), I haven't made time to post new pictures... so here are some new ones from a recent photoshoot (and there will be lots more to come... including my baby brother's engagement pics! Aww...)

My aunt, Brenda, and her partner, Sandy have been together for about 5 years. What I love about them, is that they make me laugh a lot, but even more so, they make each other laugh even more. I am happy to have Sandy as a part of our family; once you get to know her, she is a loveable dork! We had lots of fun playing at the park, and then they took me out to dinner (I'm a lucky photographer, huh?).

Meghan

Meghan Dianne entered the world last Wednesday, August the 4th at 6:03 pm, weighing 7 lbs oz, measuring 19 & 1/4 inches long, and perfect. I had the absolute pleasure of being there and photographing one of God's greatest miracles: Meghan's birth. Meghan's momma is my cousin, Heidi (below are Meghan and first-time momma, seconds after birth). I adore this photograph, and even after seeing it so many times, it still makes me cry.

At Heidi's baby shower, I told her I would do a newborn photoshoot as a gift, so here are my favorites from our newborn session on Sunday. I love every square inch of this baby; her mass of dark brown hair, blueberry eyes, and funny faces make her quite the perfect little character.

Meghan got to meet her great-grandmother for the first time on Sunday, too (actually she met a lot more of her family, but I especially love these 2 photos). This moment was so special.

Fernanda & Jason: The Nusbaums

Fernanda and Jason's wedding came and went so quickly! They had such a short engagement, it's a wonder they pulled off their wedding, but not only did they pull off their wedding, it was beautiful. Lots and lots of thanks to Gateau Monique for hosting the wedding and making everything look and taste awesome! My favorite part of the day was right after dark when you could see all the lanterns in the trees with music playing and everyone having a good time. Fernanda and Jason, I wish you both the very, very best. You're a beautiful couple and are going to be great parents. (P.S. Fernanda is a few months pregnant with a little girl, but you'd never know it, would you? She was such a beautiful bride in that dress!) Thanks again, guys, for letting me capture your special day.

Hazelwood Wedding Part 2

Here is the follow-up to the wedding I did a few weeks ago. I absolutely loved this wedding; it was definitely the most entertaining one I've ever attended! The weather was sunny and hot, right up until the marriage pronouncement, during which it started pouring buckets of rain, which caused a stampede of guests to run for cover. It stopped raining after a few minutes, but the wind caused a canopy to do some (major) damange to the wedding cake. (See before/after photos below). Soon after the reception started, Brian, the groom, changed from his tux to shorts and a t-shirt. Check out the photo of him dancing with his bride in her wedding dress (nice tube socks, Brian!). The evening was followed by the most epic bouquet catch ever (see photo sequence below).

I was so excited when my cousin, Sierra asked me to photograph her "nephew", Bradyen. This little guy kept me on my toes! I love the way his momma, Jess, looks at him with such awe as he explores the world around him. We had lots of fun playing at the park and with the big orange ball Jess bought (great idea!).

We had lots of fun playing on the swings, rolling down the big grassy hill, playing with crawfish and salamanders, and climbing the monkey bars.
